Funds raised will help us make our next documentary films.  The draw will be held February 29 at 4:00 pm at LE Shore library .

Digi Talk Artist Profile Series: Leah Denbok

Spend an hour with critically acclaimed photographer Leah Denbok. Since the age of 14, Ms Denbok has been taking portraits of people experiencing homelessness. Leah has published multiple volumes of her work in a series titles Nowhere to Call Home.

Leah will talk about her artistic inspirations and answer questions from the audience. Join us to learn more about this fascinating and talented photographer.

"Since the age of 14, I have taken portraits of people experiencing homelessness.I am on a mission to change people’s perceptions of those experiencing homelessness. Through my photographs and stories, I am trying to humanize them, to help people see that, apart from their unfortunate circumstances, they are no different from you and I." Whether your child is a boy or girl, they’ll learn a variety of interesting and challenging dance moves.

A Celebration of Women and Girls

Rosemary is the former Ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva and the Conference on Disarmament, returning to Canada in October. She is past President and CEO of  Plan Canada which is one of the largest international development agencies in Canada. 
After working with organizations like the World Bank, Canadian International Development Agency, the UN, and Street Kids International, 
Rosemary moved to Plan Canada, where she led the call for the International Day of the Girl and spearheaded the Because I am a Girl initiative.

Tour of the Universe Planetarium

Measure The Distance To The Stars - RASC Presentation

Want to know how far away something is? It's easy, just use a tape measure, a map, or drive between the points and find out. The Universe is over 90 billion light years in diameter.  How do we measure the size of the Universe when we cant put a tape measure on it? How do we know the distance to even the closest star is? Astronomers have developed a number of techniques to figure out how far the Stars are. Find out how to measure the distance to the Stars with your local astronomer Ian Wheelband, from the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada.

Join instructor, Joanne Pineau, HBSc., C-IAYT  Certified Yoga Therapist in Thornbury for this free workshop. Learn how to sit, bend and lift pain-free.  Learn effective exercises to improve muscle tone and release tension and pain in the neck, shoulders and low back. This is an experiential workshop so dress in comfortable clothing.  We will do the exercises sitting in chairs and standing. Limit of 10 participants.  Register online.

Have you heard of the Spotify app but not sure how to use it? Spotify is a music app that allows you to listen to music and make playlists free of charge to listen to over WIFI. There is an option to pay $9.99 a month for commercial free listening and downloads to listen to without an internet connection. Ashley will be talking about this app and how it works.

25th Anniversary Golf Tournament
