We are getting ACTIVE and CREATIVE in January 2020! Featuring lots of after school programs, story times and special events. Read below to find out what is happening at the L.E. Shore Library for kids the month of January 2020.
After School Kids Club Session 2 begins! The After School Kids Club runs Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-4:30pm at the L.E. Shore Library. Suitable for ages 8 and up, the Club features games, STEAM activities, arts & crafts, and fun. No cost. There are 12 available spaces. Registration opens Tuesday January 7th at 3pm. Register in person, by phoning 519-599-3681, or online (see below). Session 2 runs January 14th – March 12th. Session 3 runs after March 24th – June 25th, 2020.
L.E. Shore Hobby Club
January: How To Knit A Basic Scarf
January 8th & 22nd from 3:30-4:30pm
Meet us in the Gallery every other Wednesday from 3:30-4:30pm for some fun crafts. If you are wanting to hang out with some friends, while learning a new skill or craft, then this club is for YOU! For the month of January (Jan 8 & 22) we will be learning how to knit. We will show you how to make your own knitting needles and how to knit a very basic scarf. Ages 10 and up. Register online. Free program.
Hip Hop for Kids with Sharin
Every Friday from 3:30-4:30pm in the Gallery at L.E. Shore Library. Learn a variety of different hip hop dance styles set to fun, contemporary pop music. Hip hop dance is a great activity for kids. Whether your child is a boy or girl, they’ll learn a variety of interesting and challenging dance moves. Session 1 runs from Friday January 17 - Friday March 13, 2020. Cost is $50 for the session. Suitable for ages 8 and up. Register online. (Please note, there will be no class on January 31st)
Yoga for Kids!
Every Monday from 3:30-4:30pm in The Gallery at L.E. Shore Library. Learn the basics of yoga with certified yoga instructor, Charlene of Mantra Yoga Studio. Cost is $40 for the session. Session runs January 13th - March 9th, 2020
Ages 6 and up (Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by a Guardian to the program). Register online

Join us every Friday for a great way to start your weekend! 11:00 am-11:30 am in the L.E. Shore Library Story Tower.

Bilingual Story Time
Bonjour mes amis! Join us in the Story Tower for a Bilingual French Story Time. We will read stories, makes some crafts and have lots of FUN! Wednesday January 15th from 11:00am - 11:30am. Drop in. Free event. Ages 0 and up.
Coffee House for Young Artists
On Thursday January 23rd, the L.E. Shore Library will be hosting a Coffee House event from 6-8pm. Free event, open to all!
This is a wonderful opportunity for emerging artists to take center stage and experience what it's like to perform for a live audience. If you are a musician, writer, poet or comedian than this event is for you! Interested in performing? Register online. Registration deadline is Tuesday January 21st by 8pm.
Family Literacy Day 2020 - Where The Wild Things Are
Family Literacy Day® is a national awareness initiative created by ABC Life Literacy Canada in 1999 to raise awareness of the importance of reading and engaging in other literacy-related activities as a family. The Blue Mountains Public Library will be celebrating Family Literacy day on Monday, January 27th from 3-4:30 pm by reading the classic book Where The Wild Things Are, playing a family scavenger hunt, making crafts and having LOTS OF FUN!
