Community Hubs

  • Gallery sees 8,500 attendees in 3 months: Since May, The Gallery at L.E. Shore has had more than 8,500 visits. This includes those coming directly to see the art exhibitions, those using the Gallery as a venue, and the program attendees who participated in BMPL programs in the Gallery. [CH2.7].

  • Ravenna Hall Pop-Up Services: Pop-up GLAMs at Ravenna Hall offer information for seniors, families and rural residents to help with isolation and to provide a community hub space where they live, work, and play. Visit us every other Friday’s this summer from 1:30-4:30. Next pop-up is July 22nd. [CH1.3, CH2.2].

  • Mailbox Parties are Back for Summer: We are back on the road again, visiting our rural communities where you all stop—your local mailbox. During the consultation process we asked what you wanted to see. Now we are touching base to make sure what you hoped we would do for rural residents is being addressed. Next location is Saturday July 23rd at Gibraltar on Side Rd 6 & 4th Line. [CH2.2, CH2.3].    

Empowering Services

  • The Gallery at L.E. Shore – Juried Art Show Our Arts & Culture Council hosted a Juried Art Show, originally planned for summer 2020, in the Gallery at L.E. Shore. More than 30 local artists and photographers were short-listed to show and prizes were awarded on July 9th. This exhibit will be up through the end of August. [ES1.2]
  • BMPL Statistics are on the Climb: After two years of flux, the July CEO Report demonstrated that our statistics of usage are back on the climb. Year to date usership, circulation, virtual usage, and digital access are all increased as compared to 2021, with circulation nearly double and visiting of the virtual museum exhibits more than double. Organizational Exellence

  • Blue Mountain Pottery Expo 2022: The Blue Mountain Expo 2022 is this weekend. Don’t miss your chance to reconnect with this world famous art form that was developed right here from the clay of our municipality.  [ES1.4]

  • Library Board Meets in the Gallery: For the first time since March 2020 the BMPL Board met face to face on site at L.E. Shore. The Board will continue to broadcast meetings for the community’s viewing. Guests are also welcome in the Gallery for the live meeting. [CH3.1]

  • 2nd GoVAXX Bus Another Great Success: The GoVAXX bus came to LES for a second time on June 28th. With another high turnout, we are booked one more time for September 13th from 11am-7pm. Registration is typically available about a week before the event. Drop-ins are welcome. [OE4].

  • Arts & Culture Council Call for Applicants: The ACC is now accepting applications for new members. Members meet monthly to plan Gallery exhibits and the ACC Presents series, as well as overseeing these two main area’s implementation. The application deadline is August 15th. [OE1]
