The L.E. Shore Memorial Library and the Arts Advisory Council proudly welcomes Stepping Out, a group show featuring art work by local artists Jill Bates and Eunice Wan Wert. The opening reception, with artists in attendance, will be held on Saturday, November 7 from 2:00-4:00 pm.

The Stepping Out show represents Jill and Eunice’s inspirations from their many travels; working in watercolour, oil and acrylic.

Jill Bates is a retired art history teacher and professional interior designer in Collingwood, ON.  From 2000-2014, Jill began to devote more time to painting as she and her husband travelled five continents, where she found much of her inspiration for her work.  Jill favours both watercolours and oils, and continues to create works based on her many travels.

Eunice Van Wert began her painting career after she retired from teaching in Toronto, ON.  She learned her craft at the Willi Wildman Studio in Thornbury and began with oil paints, mostly focusing on country landscapes and structures with a lot of old history.  Eunice was particularly inspired from her vacation in Jamaica, where the old fishing boats became a favourite subject of hers.

Stepping Out will be exhibiting from November 2nd to 30th during regular library hours.
