Celebrating the Colours of Gold
Posted by Sabrina on January 27, 2020
Opening reception: Saturday, February 1, 2-4 pm
Once again we hold our annual February Salon Show where we hang, floor to ceiling, the works of our regional artists all centered around a colour theme. 2020 we Celebrate the Colours of Gold. What is always fascinating about this show is the interpretation on the theme. In 2018 we held February Blues and last year Celebrate Red. This year you can ask-what is gold to you? Is it the creaming yellow golden hues, metallics, or deep golden browns? Or is it representative of decadence, royalty, opulence? Possibly when you hear gold you think of love, commitment, memory or an age. Whatever gold means to you, we are sure you will find it in this show.
The monthly licensed opening reception is Saturday, February 1st from 2-4pm and open to all.
February will also be busy as the ACC Presents will be holding two events. The first, on Tuesday February 11th is a travel talk with Michael E Arkless, Peru: Hiking through the Sacred Valley. The second event, on Thursday February 13th, is the first of the ACC Film Series: Parasite. This film won best Foreign Film at the Golden Globe and has been called one of the best films of 2019 [Graphic Content 14AA, Subtitles]. Popcorn will be available for $1 per bag. Both events begin at 7pm and seating is on a first come basis.
