The Arts and Culture Council presents a travel experience in Peru with Michael E Arkless
Michael will showcase his experiences in the Urubamba Valley - the Sacred Valley of the Incas. This is a spiritual and peaceful place that lies between the Inca capital of Cusco and the estate of Machu Picchu. The River Urubamba runs through the valley and is an important religious element in the Inca ideology. The valley itself is flanked by the Andes and is home to many ancient ruins.
Michael will talk about the hiking adventures he shared with his wife, Gillian Arkless, in this area, and will explore the impact the Incas had on the face of the landscape, which still remains, including Machu Picchu, almost 600 years after the Incas were conquered by the Spanish.
No registration required and all are welcome.
