Mapping Ravenna

Friday August 19, 2022

Time: 1:30pm - 4:30pm

Location: Ravenna Town Hall.

The Craigleith Heritage Depot is seeking to capture history!  Andrea Wilson, Curator, will be at the Ravenna Town Hall Friday August 19th to meet and learn from locals about their home-town.  This community is in the centre of the Blue Mountains and has been a meeting place for a long time.

This afternoon join in the discovery as we map the community - adding names, events and activities to locations in the community.  There will be large maps to write on placing long forgotten events and significant landmarks back into our collective memory.  Included at the event will be objects and books from the museum that will help inspire thoughts, and memories.  The goal is to help preserve the history of this wonderful rural community.

This is a drop-in event, so stay for a bit or for the whole afternoon.  We welcome all to come and share their stories of living in Ravenna past, present and for preservation in the future.

Saturday August 20, 2022

Time: 9:30am - 9:30am

The club is named for Dorothy Crysler, a remarkable local artist, journalist, author and birder! This club takes her cue, as she was "the messenger not the expert". This group is for anyone, new or established as a birder.
