Outdoor Story Time: WEATHER PERMITTING

Time: 11:00am - 11:30am

Location: Bruce St. Lawn at L.E. Shore Library..

WEATHER PERMITTING

Bring your blankets! We will be hosting an engaging and fun Story Time session every week on Friday at 11 a.m.

We will have social circles clearly marked on the lawn (Bruce street) and properly sized to accommodate you and your children, while adhering to all provincial and Health Unit guidelines on physical distancing. You will be able to sit and listen to stories, and sing-along to songs and rhymes! While we normally support movement in our Story Times, due to physical distancing and to support everyone’s health & safety, all families and participants must remain within their marked social circle for the program.

Please note that Outdoor Story Time is weather dependant. For rain days, check out our Facebook page for our Virtual Story Time program. 

Free program. Ages 0-5 . Drop-in. Spaces limited.

Trivia Game Night

Time: 7:00pm - 11:00pm

Location: Blue Mountains Public Library Facebook Page.

Play against each other or play as a group in an interactive online Trivia Game Night! Fill your house with laughter and glee as you answer questions and compete for the top-spot on our scoreboard.

Participate through our Facebook page every Friday night at 7pm when we share the link to the game.

Kids Clubhouse

Tuesday October 6, 2020 - Tuesday October 27, 2020

Time: 4:30pm - 4:45pm

Location: The Blue Mountains Library YouTube Page.

THE KIDS CLUBHOUSE is a fun and exciting program geared just for kids. The Clubhouse will provide children with activities, crafts, puzzles, books, and movies that they can enjoy at home. Each week we will prepare a creative and engaging activity pack that can be picked up from our Holds Counter. Activity packs will be created for the following age groups:
Gr 1-3
Gr 4-6

Every activity kit will include a weekly craft materials list, and at your own pace. Every Tuesday check us out on our BMPL YouTube page at 4:30 pm, where we will guide you through the process of how to make your activity.
Session 1 runs Sept 14th - Dec 15th. Free Program.

One Card, One Million Possibilities: Ontario Public Library Week

Each day during Ontario Public Library Week, we'll give you a behind the scenes look into the life in and at the library on our Instagram page. Engage with us and others to help celebrate your public library and those across Ontario.

Virtual Star Gazing

Tuesday October 20, 2020

Time: 7:00pm - 8:00pm

Location: The Blue Mountains Public Library Zoom..

Join Ian Wheelband from RASC as we virtually stream telescope views of Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. We will also identify the Fall constellations using a live sky video. Need a star finder? You may pick one up from the library in advance (while supplies last). This is a rain or shine event, and if we are clouded out we will still be able to view the objects from a remote (or prerecorded) telescope. 

You will need a computer or laptop with a web camera, or a tablet or smart phone to participate in this event. Once registered, you will be sent a Zoom Meeting ID and password to attend this program.

Open to all ages. Free program.

Break The Fake: How to Tell What's True Online? Workshop

Monday October 26, 2020 - Friday October 30, 2020

Location: The Blue Mountains Public Library Zoom.

The Break the Fake: How to Tell What's True Online workshop will teach audiences four quick, easy steps they can take to spot misinformation and find out if something online is true or not. Designed for audiences aged 11 and up. Register online to receive a link to the workshop.

Media Literacy Week is an annual national campaign to help spread the word about the importance of media literacy and good digital citizenship. Celebrate Media Literacy Week, October 26th to 30th, with Break the Fake activities connecting us from coast to coast to coast.
