March Break! We have a line-up of circus-themed events for the whole family

Special Event - The Puppet Tamer: Tuesday, March 14 @ 10:30am-11:30am 
Stunt Ventriloquist Tim The Puppet Tamer drops jaws and tickles funny bones with a cast of hilarious characters in a one-man show. Tickets are $2/person and are available at the L.E. Shore Memorial Library or Craigleith Heritage Depot.

Tightrope Walk Over The Niagara Gorge: Wednesday, March 15 @ 11:00am-12:00pm
About 120 years ago, two such young lads from Clarksburg, Ontario accomplished several terrifying feats by walking over The Niagara Gorge on a tightrope. One of them set a world record that has never been defeated. All ages are encouraged to come out to hear local Grey-Bruce Boomer magazine writer Linda Thorn give her interactive presentation ‘Clarksburg’s Dynamic Duo’.
 
Face Painting and Fortune Telling: Wednesday, March 15 @ 1:00pm-2:00pm
Drop in to the L.E. Shore Memorial Library Gallery in the afternoon to have your face painted (for free!) and have your tarot cards read by Mystic Madeline.

Professor Jumble’s Case of Curious Objects and Skybound Spheres (aka Juggling Workshop): Thursday, March 16 @ 10:30am-11:30am
Make your own juggling objects and learn how to use them. Free program but please register online.

Movie Matinee - Vertical Belles: Thursday, March 16 @ 2:00pm-4:00pm 
Experience the journey of aerial silks artistry. The Blue Mountains Public Library and Mountain Goat Film Company present the award winning documentary film VERTICAL BELLES. Local filmmaker, Tom Strnad, will be in attendance to present this film which follows the local aerial silks artists the Vertical Belles for two years as they grow from small local performances to major gala productions in Ontario. An event for the whole family!

Library Circus Extravaganza! Friday, March 17 @ 1:00pm-4:00pm
Carnival games, treats, arts & crafts, and much more. Free, drop-in program. Fun for all-ages. Families and friends welcome!

Learn iPad basics in a small class with Darrell Noseworthy. Cost is $15 per person for each 2-hour class. You must have taken iPad Basics part 1 or be very comfortable with your iPad to sign up for parts 2, 3 or 4. Click the links to register through our website:

Richard "the Computer Guy" Banks is back with Facebook for Small Business. This one-hour class will cover setting Up a business page, adding co-editors, and advertising. The class will be small, so sign up online soon!

Archives Room Unavailable Thursday Afternoons in March
The “Writing Your Life History” workshop program is back for another 5 weeks this March! The program participants and instructor John Fisher will be meeting in the Archives Room every Thursday afternoon this month, so it will be unavailable for public use at these times.

Blue Mountains’ Writer’s Group Continues to Meet Bi-Weekly: Tuesday, March 7 & Tuesday, March 21 @ 1:00pm–3:30pm
Take your writing skills to the next level with the newly-formed Blue Mountains Writer's Group, led by local author/artist John Fisher. Bi-weekly meetings will allow for networking, lively discussion, feedback, and stretching your writing skills, whether you have published or unpublished work at hand. One time cost of $20.00 covers the remaining 7 week cycle of meetings. Admission is ongoing. Canada 150: Show, Tell & Create: Wednesday, March 1 @ 3:30pm–5:00pm
A monthly after-school program for kids ages 5-13 where they're encouraged to bring something related to the month's theme. Kids will share and do crafts. March's theme will be PUPPETS to celebrate this month’s Canada 150 theme “Canadian Circus.” Register online, over the phone, or via email if you can, but drop-ins are always welcome. Cost by donation.

Canada 150: Vertical Belles Documentary Screening: Tuesday, March 9 @ 10:00am–12:00pm
Experience the journey of aerial silks artistry and discover the circus in your own backyard with a special screening of an award-winning local documentary film "Vertical Belles" - written and directed by Blue Mountains' own talented Tom Strnad of Mountain Goat Film! Enjoy the film and meet its creators in the charming, historic setting of the Craigleith Community Centre, just a few seconds from the Craigleith Heritage Depot.

Craigleith Lace Club: Wednesday, March 15 @ 3:00pm–6:00pm
Every third Wednesday of the month, Museum Curator and professional lacemaker Andrea leads 45 minute beginner's lace tatting classes during a 3 hour drop in period. Lacemakers of all levels of experience - from no experience to expert - are welcome! Cost is by donation and will help provide supplies for this program.

Free Tax Return Service: Saturday, March 25 @ 10:00am–12:00pm
Good news: you may be eligible to have a trained volunteer complete your tax return for you! Call 519-599-3681 or email the Craigleith Heritage Depot to be connected with a trained volunteer to arrange an appointment on Saturday, March 25th, 2017. The Depot is hosting a morning of appointment-only meetings between a volunteer and those members of the public interested in receiving help with preparing their tax returns.

Tickets for Canadian Film Day Screenings of “Snow People” Documentary Available
The Craigleith Heritage Depot is pleased to announce it will be hosting two screenings of Mountain Goat Film’s brand-new documentary “Snow People” on Canadian Film Day (Wednesday, April 19, 2017) at the Craigleith Community Centre. Showtimes are 1:30pm and 6:30pm. Tickets are free but required for entry; pick yours up soon from the Depot or the LE Shore to avoid disappointment!
