Thank-you Library Knitting Group

The Blue Mountains Public Library – L.E. Shore Memorial Library, would like to extend a sincere thank-you to the Library Knitter’s Club, From The Heart.

These wonderful ladies, who meet at the library every Thursday from 1:30-3pm, have worked tirelessly and in the past year have donated over 200 items to a Korean orphanage; they have donated hand-knit hats, lap blankets and scarves to the oncology department at Owen Sound Hospital, as well to the preemie nursery wing at the Orillia hospital.  They donated lap rugs and shawls to Errinrung Retirement home, and made sure the seniors who have no family all had wonderful homemade Christmas presents under the tree. They also donated winter warmers as a Christmas present to a Meaford Community Living patient. The knitters also gave a large holiday donation of hats, mitts, and warm winter wear to My Friends House in Collingwood.

This year’s From the Heart Bazaar held at the Library in November, was a huge success.  The knitters raised over $2000 and donated it right back to the Library to go toward a youth art show and repairs to the Library’s fireplace (always trying to keep everyone warm!)

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to the wonderful knitters for all that you do.
