Library and School Partnership

Posted: by Emma on November 2, 2016

The L.E. Shore Memorial Library will be visiting Beaver Valley Community School (BVCS) throughout the month of November to give themed story times, craft workshops, age-appropriate book talks, as well as iPad and eResource demonstrations.

Library and School Partnership

Emma, Manager of Public Services, will be in classrooms at BVCS to read stories, make crafts, and give presentations on how to download eBooks, eMagazines, use iPads, and learn a language online. She will also be showcasing a wide range of new and classic books, materials, and portable edu-kits geared toward certain grade levels,

This partnership program is meant to encourage children to visit the library and have fun. Classroom visits and outreach programs promote the joy of reading and let students know about programs and services the L.E. Shore Library has to offer (including homework help!)

L.E. Shore Memorial Library has a strong relationship with BVCS and enjoys the mutual benefit of being next door.  As the L.E. Shore Library is currently closed for a roof repair (with a temporary library set up in Town Hall’s Council Chambers) the library wanted to make sure the local youth were not missing out on library programs and services.

If you are a teacher or educator and would like to arrange a classroom visit, contact us.
