Hiraeth - Homecoming

Unique landscape and streetscape photography by Keita Inoue

Hiraeth - Homecoming

March 4 - March 30, 2017
Opening reception: Saturday, March 4, 2-4 pm

"Hiraeth is a longing for one's homeland, but it's not mere homesickness. It's an expression of the bond one feels with one's home country when one is away from it" [urbandictionary.com]

Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, Keita Inoue moved to Canada in 2000. Keita's viewfinder focuses on abandoned, derelict, and dilapidated places and buildings, as well as beautiful landscapes and streetscapes.

"These images are all taken exclusively in the Bruce/Grey/Simcoe Counties and throughout a variety of seasons. Each scene greets me with a serene, gentle welcome, and I approach each in anticipation. I am always excited to listen, and then share with others each story that has waited so long to be told. Also included in this exhibition are some of the photographs taken during my trip to Japan in 2016, from beautiful landscapes to mesmerizing streetscapes throughout the country".
