Hello Everyone! What amazing weather we've had the past 2 weeks! I hope you're all enjoying it. Delirium is an amazing book, Lauren Oliver never stops short of amazing me! Her latest YA novel "Replica" will surely make an appearance on one of my reading lists in the future. Enjoy!

#5. Delirium By Lauren Oliver

Genre: Dystopian

This is the second of Lauren Oliver’s books to make it onto my lists and positively not the last. This story shows how far humans will go to eliminate what we don’t understandIn the city of Portland, there are many things you don’t want to do to antagonize the government. Falling in love with someone is one of them. If you’re lucky you get “cured” early…if you’re not…you get thrown in prison and left to basically rot. An amazing book, definitely one that is not to be missed!

Magdalena “Lena” Haloway is like any other girl, waiting to be cured of “Amor Deliria Nervosa”.  Maybe you know it by its common name, “Love”.

After years and years of studying, scientists finally discovered an antidote. Now there’s hardly any crime, since crime stems from love in some peculiar way.  Some people don’t want to be cured but they’re forced through the procedure anyway.

Lena on the other hand can’t wait and she only has 3 months before it’s her turn. Until one night when she and her best friend Hana go to a party where she meets Alex. He’s extremely handsome and sweet, before she knows what’s happened Lena does the unthinkable…she falls in love. Meeting Alex in the middle of the night is not a wise decision but she does it anyway. Maybe being cured isn’t all it’s been cracked up to be. Find out what Lena, Hana and Alex have in store for them in “Delirium”!

Delirium is the first book in the “Delirium” trilogy.  Place a hold today

Happy Reading!
