The Craigleith Heritage Depot will be supplying postcards for those who would like to participate in Postcards For Peace for 2018.

Postcards For Peace is a program initiated by Veterans Affairs Canada. It provides an opportunity to send postcards that express messages of thanks to our Canadian Armed Forces.

VAC pre-printed postcards are limited, but we will also provide blank postcards so you can design your own!

Registration will open Tuesday September 11th at 6pm, online, in person or by phone.

Welcome to the Milky Way

Welcome to the Milky WayThursday, November 8, 2018 7:00pm - 8:00pm
Location: L.E. Shore Library

Join us Thursday November 8th at 7:00pm for an exciting evening exploring the Milky Way with the Royal Astronomical Society.

The evening will begin at 7:00pm at the L.E. Shore Library with a lecture about the Milky Way, how our galaxy was formed, why it is shaped the way it is and where our solar systems fits in our home among the stars.

If weather permits the evening will close with a visit to the Carr Observatory (maps will be provided, must have own transportation) to have a look at the Milky Way and use the telescope to view the planets, galaxies and stars.

This program is free but donations to the Observatory are encouraged (suggested cost is $5-$10 per person)
All ages.  Space is limited.  Please register below.
