JAZZ AT THE LIBRARY explores the HITS OF THE JAZZ AGE

The L.E.Shore Library in Thornbury is the place to be on Friday September 21,2018. The Wayne McGrath Quintet will bring alive the popular music of the 20’s with Hoagy Carmichael’s “Stardust”, Irving Berlin’s “Blue Skies” and many other classic standards which today are considered main stream jazz. Many other all time hits were composed for musicals and Broadway shows such as Cole Porter’s “Fascinating Rhythm” and George Gershwin’s “Some One To Watch Over Me”, still recorded today.

Wayne McGrath on trumpet, Don Buchanan on piano, clarinet and tenor sax, Peter Rissi on trombone, Jay Burr on tuba and Stephen Woods on drums will be performing a repertoire reflecting the impact of music on the cultural and social changes occurring at the times.

Tickets at $25 are available at Thornbury Pharmasave and Blue Mountain Music in Collingwood.
