“Did you know one bee makes 300 trips a day from flower to hive? They fill up their two stomachs and take it back to the hive,” he enthuses. “And the queen lays 2,000 eggs a day to support a nice, plump beehive of about 50,000 bees in the peak of summer.”

Richard Elzby from Sunnyside Honey will be at the L.E. Shore Library to talk about keeping bees, why bees are so important to our environment?.And why is our area such a great location to harvest honey.

The Library will be celebrating the Bumble Bee this week ! Come on down Thursday August 23rd for our Build Your Own Bumble Bee craft from 11:00- 12:00 pm.

Toastmasters

Open to everyone 18 years and older who wishes to gain confidence in their communication and leadership skills. Guests are free. Membership is paid in advance for six month periods. 1st, 3rd,4th and 5th Tuesday year round

Toastmasters is peer-based learning to help members with self-improvement, leadership and communication skills. Learn by doing. Members improve their speaking, presentation and listening skills through speeches, story telling and providing feedback to each other.
