Rules for borrowing books and more
You are allowed to borrow items for free from the library as long as you have a library card. Books, magazines, and audio books can be borrowed for 3 weeks. If no one else is waiting for the item(s) you borrowed, you can renew them up to 3 times. You can borrow movies (DVD, Blu-Ray, VHS) for 1 week. Movies cannot be renewed.
You need to take good care of the items that you borrow and return them on time so you don’t get any overdue fines! Overdue fines are 25 cents a day for books, magazines and audiobooks and $1 a day for movies. They can really add up, but they will never be more than $5 for one book or one movie.
If you lose an item you borrowed from the library, you must pay the replacement cost. That means the amount it will cost the library to buy a new book or movie.
