Arts & Culture Council

The Arts & Culture Council (ACC) was established in early 1996 as a companion to the L.E. Shore Memorial Library.   In 2018 the name was changed from Arts Advisory Council to the current Arts & Culutre Council to include the various types of cultural programming the Council had begun to promote in The Gallery. 

The intent of establishing the council was to showcase artists both local and abroad, as well as to provide guidance for art programming in the public. Members past and present have included some of the most prominent artists from the community, making for an eclectic and innovative mixture of programming and exhibitions.


The Arts & Culture Council would like to invite you to be a part of the coordination and support of their events and art exhibits. If you would like to volunteer your time on an occasional or regular basis, assisting in such areas as helping with receptions, publicity, display cases or distributing posters, please do give us a call at 519-599-3681 or drop by and pick up an application form. We'd love your help!  

The Arts & Culture Council term expires in winter 2019.  The CEO held an Information Session on November 15, 2018 for interested community members.  The deadline for applying to both the Arts Advisory Council and the Museum Advisory Council is January 31, 2019.  If you are interested in applying for the Council, please visit Board Recruitment for details and the application form.
